ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Ø The Department was established in 1975. The teaching and research program of the Department is based on a comprehensive social science approach that integrates and interrogates sociological, economic, philosophical and cultural dimensions. It encourages a comprehensive study of the field of society, keeping especially the Indian reality in focus.

Ø The main objective of the Department of sociology is to provide opportunities for students to organize and participate in various co-curricular activities. It basically aims at generating interest among students and motivating them to pursue higher education.

Ø Qualified and committed faculty.

Ø  Our faculty is using ICT enabled teaching methods to enrich the learning experience of student.

Ø  The department has a standard set of Program Specific Outcomes and Course  Outcomes.

Ø Three years B.A. Degree Program with HEP, HES, HEG and HEE combinations.

Ø NEP-2020 is being implemented from the current academic year 2021-22.

Ø The Department of Sociology aims at developing value based ideological perspective and prepare   the students to understand the practical issues of the  society.

Ø The faculty also aims at producing efficient students to serve in different fields of the society.

  • The Department of Sociology intends to sensitize students to the social realities, issues and problems of contemporary society.
  • It also attempts to orient students with skills to manage their social and professional life.
  • To enhance social awareness and responsibilities among the students by community oriented activities.

OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT

  • Impact quality education in sociology to rural students.
  •  In calculate the culture of hard work and disciplined life.
  •  Equip the students with the skills needed to adapt to changes in global scenario.
