Preamble:

With an intention of providing commerce education to rural youth, B.Com course was started in the year of 1975, along with the establishment of the college. Many faculty have rendered their services in the department. The department was started with a small strength of 18 students. The present total student strength is 574 and the ratio of teacher of students is 1:38. A good number of students who got their degree in this college have scattered all over the state, nation and even aboard. They have occupied best positions and different capacities like Charted Accountants, Business Positions, Legal and Tax experts, Professors, Entrepreneurs, Renowned politicians and so on.

OBJECTIVES:

           In order to fulfill its stated vision, mission and motto, the department is committed to:

  • Academic Excellence: Our primary object is to enable every student to cope up with the recent trends in contemporary, national and global level through effective transaction of the curricular and co-curricular aspects.
  • Professional Excellence: Motivates and prepares the students for positions of leadership in business organizations at the local, national and international levels. The ultimate object is to produce Commerce and Management graduates with the skills, problem solving tools and professionalism which is essential for being successful.
  • Holistic Development: To provide exposure to learners in the latest trends in relevant branches of knowledge, competence and creativity to face global challenges. To achieve innovations in teaching-learning, research and extension activities to realize national goals, including the adoption and promotion of knowledge output for human development.
  • Socially responsible Citizen: To inculcate a sense of civic responsibility, social commitment and moral accountability among the students through social activities with the exposure of human rights, value system, culture, heritage, scientific temper and environment.
