ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Sri Adichunchanagiri College of arts and commerce was established by SAST ® in the year 1975. The college is located in T B extension Nagamangala town, 20 km away from Sri adichunchanagiri mutt, the college has a good academic environment and adequate physical infrastructure, to cater to the needs of students.
Our Post graduation center, aims at providing education to students ,who are from economically back warded class, to upgrade their knowledge in commerce, striving in developing potential research activities and to produce post graduates, as resources, for the corporate world. Keeping this in mind of the above background, SAC Academy of higher education / post graduation centre has started two years courses, from the academic year 2014-15, with a well-furnished infrastructure and qualified faculty member. Since its inception, the department has been playing a vital role in imparting quality education to the rural students through continuous academic activities like: special lectures, workshop, seminars and industrial visits and so on.

- To be the best in providing quality education in commerce and to rejuvenate ethical and moral values among the students in order to respond to the current competitive world.
Mission
- To impart qualitative and innovative education, to the students through teaching, research and extensional activities, to enable the students to become national assets.
Objectives
- To improve soft skills, to bring about balanced personality development of the students.
- To keep regular interaction with: business, commerce and industry by associating with them and entering into MOUs.
- To adopt appropriate methods of assessment and evaluation of performance of students.
- To foster research dimension among the students and faculty.

- Introducing certificate computer courses on: Tally and ERP in collaboration with Hongirana computer center.
- To undertake more number of research projects in the department.

- Creating awareness about online learning among the students, belonging to rural area.
- To foster knowledge on competencies, to acquire them to face prevailing competition, in the present job market.
Future plans
- Certificate or add on courses to be conducted for the M.Com students
- Industrial visit to be conducted every year.
- To introduce more elective papers.
- To invite Industrialist and other entrepreneur for Special Lecturer
- To guide the students to take up project works, in order to, foster research mind set among them.
- To motivate students to participate in seminars and conferences and to present research papers.
